Copy and Creative Editing
You want a considered evaluation of your completed first draft manuscript. You have three options.
Reader’s Report
Offers an experienced evaluation of your story. Is it close to publication standard? Does it require more structuring? What is the next stage for your project? Broad recommendations made. No on page changes or proofing. You want an editor to spend a few hours on reading alone and give general recommendations.
Copy/Evaluation Edit
You have worked on the story, made your own edits, proofread, and now you need someone to give you outside perspective before you upload or send out to agents and publishers.
Recommendations given with specifics pointed out on the level of both story and language. Your text is proofread and changes made so that grammar and punctuation are correct.
Intrinsic Edit
This is a blend of teaching and editing
You want someone to look at the story entirely and the language specifically, together with proofing for grammar, punctuation and spelling. You would choose an intrinsic edit because you want to learn for your next project as much as this book. This edit provides teaching examples where I extract material and show you what could be done so that your manuscript is not affected, but gives you outside assistance.
This is creative editing where you are being shown as well as told. It involves inspiring the writer to see that they hold within the story, all the elements needed to make it publishable. They also know intrinsically how to do it, they just need specific how to examples, based on how they are writing, based on their story.
